Salmon River Update 1 October 2015
The anticipated Salmon run has finally started! Our lake captains are seeing more and more salmon staging and Douglaston Salmon Run is reporting a good run of mixed Kings and Cohoes entering the first part of the river! There has been some fresh dime-bright Steelhead up to 12 pounds reported as well. A few drop-back Landlocked Salmon were caught and released on the Douglaston Salmon Run. Egg patterns, chartreuse and pink, woolly buggers in white or black have been the primary choice of flies for many anglers and the Zero Limit Adventures guide team. The Sportmen’s, Trestle and School House Pools are fishing well. The salmon are starting to concentrate in the Upper Fly Zone. All anglers are in for a very good week after a long wait. This is the latest Salmon Run in 22 years of our log. Up to this year the latest run was 15 September!
